Process & Data Reporting Manager

The Iowa Primary Care Association a mission-oriented organization and our team is proud to be part of the bigger purpose. Due to the growing needs of the organization we are looking to expand our Performance Improvement Team. The Process & Data Reporting Manager will be primarily responsible for working with health center leadership to drive practice transformation through process change, collaboration and effective use of technology and data. The Process & Data Reporting Manager works under the direction of the Senior Director and Performance Improvement Director to help drive process improvements in all health centers and contribute to the organization’s mission by adhering to the core values and supporting the focus on reducing access barriers for patients. Approximately 50% travel is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Performance Improvement

  • Conduct health center process improvement and project change readiness capacity assessments.
  • Participate in the development of process improvement program and deliver training and coaching to health center staff.
  • Lead health centers in the development of a continuous improvement culture.
  • Coach, educate and lead health centers in PI principles, methodologies, tools, resources, events and activities.
  • Facilitate health center based staff’s ability to formulate and plan projects, execute projects, measure results and make course corrections.
  • Assist health centers in creating work flows to optimize care delivery, introduce best practice improvements, and evaluate outcomes using rapid cycle improvements using PDSA, LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies. Meet with health center staff at least monthly, to facilitate progress and address barriers.
  • Collaborate with health center care teams including care coordinators, quality management, clinical teams, dental teams and behavioral health teams to support integrated PCP driven care for patients of our health centers.
  • Support health centers in implementing process improvements to assist the health center in becoming or maintaining Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) recognition.

Planning and support for Learning Events

  • With the direction of the Senior Director and the Performance Improvement Director, the Process & Data Reporting Manager will assist with coordination, providing content and facilitating in-person Performance Improvement Learning Collaborative events, which occur quarterly.

Business Intelligence and Reporting

  • Work with department leaders to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and methods of reporting that present relevant and actionable data.
  • Extract data from systems where it is available and serve as the point person on the Performance Improvement team to develop specifications for reports for the Health Information Technology Team or in cases where practical, generate the reports using existing infrastructure which would require the following:
  • Developing executive dashboards with advanced drill-through capabilities.
  • Using SSRS, Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Excel: Pivot Table, Power Query, Power Pivot, and Data Models to gather information from multiple sources and deliver information to the end user.
  • Acting as a Microsoft Power BI, visualization and dash-boarding subject matter expert
  • Through BI software development activities and collective understanding of the enterprise-wide business needs, promoting the use of self-service products.
  • Defining and documenting best practices for dashboards and self-service reporting tools.
  • Performing unit and integration test, participate in report validation and QA of reporting and data analytics.
  • Creating quality reports and applications and accountable for doing whatever is necessary towards that end.
  • Ability to perform basic to intermediate descriptive and inferential statistics.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with, and ability to work with, community health center patient populations.
  • Ability to assist with determining and implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is required.
  • Advanced organizational skills required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in process improvement preferred.
  • Certification in process improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean process improvement.
  • Knowledge of the Lean Toyota Method, and Six Sigma Methodologies.
  • Experience with the facilitation of Value Steam Analysis Events & Kaizen Events.
  • Experience with the facilitation of lean simulations.
  • Intermediate SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), preferably Microsoft T-SQL skills including but not limited to complex SQL statements, stored procedures, user defined functions, etc.
  • Strong experience with: SQL Server Database Engine, Report Builder
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Basic understanding of electronic health record data structures.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Experience with process improvement.
  • Experience with report writing and dashboard building.
  • Experience with data mining and analysis.
  • High analytical skills, language and reasoning ability. Excellent business acumen.
  • Solid understanding of relational database concepts and ability to design analytical reports.
  • Proficiency with analytics tools such as R, SAS, SPSS, SQL, and Tableau.

  • Tableau/Crystal/Qlik
  • GE Centricity & i2i
  • Athena and NextGen

Chief Operating Officer

Chief Operating Officer for River Hills Community Health Center:  Primary responsibilities include planning, leading, directing, and achieving all business and operational results associated with functional areas as assigned. Ensures all Health Center clinic operations meet community needs, and that all services are delivered in an efficient, productive, compliant and effective manner.
