The Iowa PCA is offering free, in-person, three-day advanced de-escalation training courses intended for non-law enforcement professionals in each behavioral health district. The courses, conducted by SolutionPoint+, are being offered January through June 2026, rotating monthly to a site in each of Iowa’s behavioral health districts.
This three‑day course equips non‑law enforcement professionals to confidently identify and respond to crises involving behavioral health and substance use disorders. Through immersive scenarios, participants will practice effective communication and crisis response skills while learning to maintain personal well‑being in challenging situations.
Due to high statewide demand for this training, registration is limited to 20 people per session. Priority will be given to persons providing direct care to individuals and families in crisis.
