Registration will close one week prior to the training or once capacity is reached, whichever comes first. If a session fills, a waitlist will be available, and Iowa PCA will make every effort to provide opportunities for all interested participants to attend.
SolutionPoint+ De-Escalation Trainings
The Iowa PCA is offering free, in-person, three-day advanced de-escalation training courses intended for non-law enforcement professionals in each behavioral health district. The courses, conducted by SolutionPoint+, are being offered January through June 2026, rotating monthly to a site in each of Iowa’s behavioral health districts. Through immersive scenarios, participants will practice effective communication and crisis response skills while learning to maintain personal well‑being in challenging situations.
SolutionPoint+ Crisis Intervention Trainings
Free trainings for law enforcement and first responders. The Iowa PCA is hosting free trainings for members of law enforcement and first responders. The Crisis Intervention Training course is a five-day, 40-hour in-person training conducted by SolutionPoint+, a veteran-owned organization whose trainers have years of on-the-ground law enforcement experience.
NAMI Trainings
The Iowa PCA recently partnered with NAMI Iowa to invest in its “train-the-trainer” program, advancing professional development for behavioral health providers statewide.
Through five different two-day virtual trainings offered February-May 2026, NAMI Iowa Affiliate members can access free trainings to learn how to implement class materials, effectively share their recovery story in public settings, and facilitate NAMI support groups.
