Medical Assistant and Dental Assistant Apprenticeships
The Iowa PCA supports community health centers in offering Medical Assistant (MA) and Dental Assistant (DA) apprenticeship programs as part of their workforce development strategies.
How Participation Works:
These apprenticeship programs are employer-sponsored and only available through participating health centers. Apprentices are selected and sponsored by their employing health center, who cover the costs associated with the program, including training and certification expenses.
To participate in an apprenticeship program:
You must be employed by a participating health center.
Your health center must choose to sponsor you for the apprenticeship program.
Apprentices are selected based on each health center’s workforce needs, staffing plans, and available program capacity.
Participation is determined by the health center and is not guaranteed for all employees.
