Alex serves as Senior Director of Strategy at the Iowa Primary Care Association, where he leads strategic initiatives to strengthen statewide partnerships and engagement.

With a career spanning media, higher education, and state government, Alex brings extensive experience in communications, public relations, and strategic leadership. He began his career as a reporter, photojournalist, and editor before transitioning into public service, where he held spokesperson and director roles guiding statewide communications. Most recently, he led communications strategy for state health and human services and medical examiner operations, ensuring clear messaging and effective stakeholder engagement.

Alex offers expertise in strategic communications, government affairs, and public service leadership. His career reflects a commitment to elevating public service through innovative strategy and collaborative partnerships. Alex holds a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Grand View University, with additional studies in criminal justice and crime scene investigations.

Alex lives in the Des Moines metro with his Bernese Mountain Dog, Gus, and enjoys traveling, spending time with family, staying connected to his community, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and Green Bay Packers.
